Advanced / Picture Smocking
Have you ever wanted to know how to draw with a needle and floss? Picture Smocking, using a stacked cable stitch, will do just that. Stacking cables is a technique that is similar to cross stitch patterns in that as you place cable stitches on top of each other, you will be forming pictures. The sample picture here shows "Three Blind Mice".
Please Note: Beginning Smocking is a prerequisite to taking this class.

Smocking In The Hoop By Machine
Is hand smocking not your thing? In this class we will teach you how to machine smock using the decorative stitches on your machine to complete a nightgown with decorative piping.
In the second half of this class, we will smock an insert using your embroidery machine and designs. This is a fun, fast way to smock and you will be amazed at the results!
Saturday, May 15 - 10AM to 4PM
Santa For All Seasons - 12 Month Series
What does Santa do the rest of the year? You will find out when you embroider this collection. We have a different Santa Claus for every month of the year. Each Santa comes three different ways, a large appliqué Santa for the 6"x10" hoop, a smaller appliqué version for the 5"x7" hoop and a stitched version for the 5"x7" hoop. A corresponding banner for each month of the year is included, for you to further embellish your projects. For this project we will be creating an interchangeable wall hanging. It is actually a simple quilt background, but instead of stitching the Santas directly to the fabric, we'll be stitching them on separate pieces of fabric and then button them onto the quilt background. This way you can use the same background and switch the Santas as the seasons change. If you have never created appliqué before don't be afraid to try, there is a Home Decor tutorial located in the tutorials folder on the CD-Rom. Appliqué is one of the topics discussed in that tutorial. We hope you enjoy embroidering these whimsical Santa Designs, and coming to your class each month!

Garments the "My Label" Way
So many of you who have either taken Aileen's Beginning Sewing class, or who have requested a "What's Next?," intermediate sewing class, Aileen has finally scheduled a new series.
Aileen's new series, Garments the "My Label" Way, is postponed until Q1 of 2010. This new series requires Bernina's My Label software. In this class each student will be measured and produce a graphic model, from the software, using those measurements and inputting them into the software. A pattern will be selected from the many available garments within the software, the pattern is printed and the selected garment then constructed.
Class fee is $499.99 and includes the My Label software. Students must bring a suitable laptop computer to class. Please see the system requirements for My Label on the Bernina Website. For students who already own the My Label software, Class fee is $150.00.
Janome & Bernina Mastery Classes
We have up to 6 classes for you to learn how to use all of the features of your new Bernina or Janome sewing machine. These classes are project oriented instead of the usual boring stitch outs. Many accessories that are available from Bernina or Janome are also demonstrated during machine mastery classes.
When you purchase your software at T.V.S.C., we have embroidery software training available. Duration of trainings vary, depending on which software you purchased. Learning your software is easy at Temecula Valley Sewing Center! Call for an appointment today.
