1) Embroidery Club will be held this Saturday, December 8, 2007, at 10:00AM. This is the last Embroidery Club meeting of the year! Embroidery Club is a great monthly event that we host, and is not make or model specific. It is actually a great event to attend if you are curious about embroidery. We teach attendees about new techniques and new products, you will have a chance to share your latest projects, and we have a great discount for attendees on all of our embroidery products on Embroidery Club day. This Embroidery Club will cover a lot of content because it is 2 months worth of Embroidery Club jammed into one! What is the price of Embroidery Club? Not only is Embroidery Club free, if you attend our Embroidery Club session, you have an opportunity to purchase any/all items we present at a discount after the meeting. Did I mention that Embroidery Club is FREE?!?! Another bonus for embroidery club attendees; the new "Gift of the Month" will be unveiled. Oh yeah, and we have snacks too!

2) A Sit & Sew session will take place after Embroidery Club on Saturday, December 8, 2007 from 11am - 3pm. For a session fee of $10 you can join Georgianne Beebe as she gives you guidance with embroidery techniques, help with stabilizers, or general sewing questions. You can bring in a new project or a work-in-progress to work on. Spend the afternoon sewing and chatting with Georgianne!

3) TVSC has ordered 17 Christmas Design Packs from Dakota Collectibles. Only one of each pack will be available. Each of these packs will be offered at a GREAT discounted rate of 50% off! There will be only 17 completely different packs that include "Christmas Favorites" from past Christmas designs. Any of these packs would make great Christmas gifts, stocking stuffers, and are great for buying for your own Christmas projects and homemade gifts as well. The designs will be available next week and are on a first come, first serve basis. Be sure to stop by and get yours!

4) TVSC is now a drop-off location for Toys for Tots during the 2007 holiday season. Toys for Tots is an organization sponsored by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to help collect toys for needy children who might not receive something for Christmas otherwise. Bring in an unwrapped toy to TVSC for donation to Toys for Tots to help make a child's Christmas special.

5) As usual, Temecula Valley Sewing Center will be closed on December 24 and 25 for Christmas, and also on December 31 and January 1st to celebrate the new year.

The Spirit of Christmas sale is my attempt to keep people thinking about the true meaning of Christmas. I hope you will enjoy my attitude regarding keeping my heritage and tradition alive. If you were trying to protect a holiday that was important to you, I would certainly give you the same respect.

Anyways, this year's Spirit of Christmas Sale ends January 1st, 2008. Discounts do not apply to merchandise previously sold by Temecula Valley Sewing Center. See store for other restrictions and details.

Since I figured that my customers wouldn't want to show up for Embroidery Club on the last Saturday of November and December due to the holidays, I rescheduled Embroidery Club's last meeting of the year for Saturday December 8th. Embroidery Club will meet at the usual time, 10:00AM. Embroidery Club WILL NOT meet on the last Saturday of November, nor the last Saturday of December. This December 8th meeting is the final meeting in 2007! Call the shop if you need to ask any questions. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday, December 8th!

7/26/07 - Great News!

1) New for TVSC - Gift of the Month by Martha Pullen.
Each month Martha Pullen creates a new embroidery project called "Gift of the Month"; this project is available on CD and includes a single embroidery design, project instructions, a tips & tricks sheet, and some original handwork designs. Temecula Valley Sewing Center is now a Gift of the Month dealer, and has the Gift of the Month projects available during the month for only $7.00. Sign up for next month's project during Embroidery Club and recieve a $2.00 discount. June 2007 project CDs are still available for $10.00. If you would like to have some fun with other people doing the Gift of the Month Club project, come in and take Georgianne Beebe's Gift of the Month Class featuring the different techniques introduced in the Gift of the Month project instructions. Only basic sewing experience is needed to take the class, and project kits are available. Kit price varies based on project requirements.

2) TVSC is now an authorized Juki dealer.
Last month I told you that I had submitted a dealer application to Juki and the good news is that I was approved! I have already received a batch of their sewing machines and we have some sergers on the way. The machines are excellent quality for their price range, and the sergers are premium quality. Juki is well-known for being a leading manufacturer of industrial machines and sergers, and we are proud to have become a dealer of their machines. Come in some time soon and see these great new machines.

3) Boxed variegated embroidery thread sets 50% off (limited to stock on hand).
We have boxes of Poly-X40 brand, 100% polyester variegated thread, in boxes of quantity 25 spools, for 50% off. This is the same great thread we have been selling for a year or so. Get yours while supplies last, for only $99.95!

4) New Bernina Activa 210 sewing machine set up for demonstration.
Bernina has come out with a new lightweight sewing machine that is now their least expensive real Bernina machine. Bernina has always had their Bernette line of sewing machines but the quality doesn't compare to the real thing. If you've always wanted a Bernina, but have found that they are just outside your price range, come in and see this great machine! See the machine in our shop, or view the details now on Bernina's website.

5) All floor model machines discounted up to 20% (7-28-2007 thru 8-4-2007).
Starting this Saturday, after Embroidery Club, all of our floor model machines will be discounted. Normally we wouldn't sell certain floor models for a discount if they are new, but during this week-long sale we will have a minimum discount of 10% off of our already low prices on any floor model sewing machine, serger, cover stitch, or embroidery machine. Most of these machines have literally stitched for less than a minute. Take advantage of this opportunity knowing that your purchase is still covered under the complete manufacturer's warranty.

6) Save up to $2100 when you buy a NEW Janome sewing machine. (This weekend only, Friday 7-27-2007 thru Sunday 7-29-2007) Limited to stock on hand, DC2007LE not included.
This weekend only come in and save on any new Janome sewing machine in stock. Pricing for this weekend can save you up to $2100 off of the MSRP. We have 34 machines in stock that will be included in this special. Between this and our floor model discounts, this weekend is the best time to buy a sewing machine this summer! Remember, we offer financing on ANY sewing machine purchase. Come fill out a finance application and we can tell you, within minutes, if you are approved. Finance terms available to review at TVSC, not all applicants will be approved, DC2007LE not included in this special offer. Limited to Janome stock on hand.

7) Project Linus Tea Party Saturday, August 4.
On Saturday, August 4 from 11:00am to 3:00pm, TVSC will be hosting an appreciation day for those involved with Project Linus or for those who desire to learn more about Project Linus. This will be a chance to meet the local coordinators for Project Linus. There will be refreshments, label sewing, door prizes, and lots of fun! Come join this team of loving individuals who dedicate their time to making kids feel special through their blanket donations. To RSVP (not necessary, but appreciated), or for further information regarding your Project Linus Chapter, please call (858)350-0328, or send an email to [email protected] You can also find out more about Project Linus by going to their national website ProjectLinus.org.

8) Our new online Sewing, Quilting, and Embroidery bookstore has been a real hit!
Thank you to everyone who has purchased books through the TVSC website. The launch of the online bookstore has been a real hit, and we are excited that we are able to have this service on our website. If you haven't been there yet, be sure to visit the "Books" page of the website by clicking here: Sewing, Quilting, & Embroidery Books.

1) Bernina is having a 75 hour sale that starts today. View the details of the sale on Bernina's website, Bernina of America

3/8/07 - Hello Everyone!

Temecula Valley Sewing Center's Embroidery Club is having a contest. Contest participants should make a square shaped sign-like wall hanging, finished with backing and binding, with at least one embroidery design, and either the words "Temecula Valley Sewing Center" AND/OR "Embroidery Club" embroidered on it. The measurements of the sign-like wall hanging are such that it will be displayed within one of the squares of our store's front windows, which maximum dimensions are 20 wide by 22 tall. Any further embellishment to the sign-like wall hanging is encouraged. We want to show other customers that we are having fun in embroidery club, and I think this is a great way to do it.

When your contest entry is finished, bring it to Temecula Valley Sewing Center and we will hang it in the window. Entries should be made so that they will hang in the center of the 20 by 22 inch window pane, by a rod that is 3/8 to half of an inch thick, located directly behind the top pane. Entries will not be accepted that hang outside of the 20 by 22 inch window pane. For specific details, see Brian, Gwen, or Aileen.

All entries must be submitted by March 31. (The deadline has been extended). Entries will hang in the front windows of TVSC, and ALL customers will have an opportunity to judge these entries until Embroidery Club in March 2007. During March's Embroidery Club, all Embroidery Club attendees will have a last chance to vote for their favorite hanger. Votes WILL NOT be anonymous to TVSC to ensure that only one vote per customer is entered. Votes will be counted by TVSC and the winners announced at April's Embroidery Club. Winner need not be present to win.

1st prize is a box of embroidery thread
2nd prize is a free ETO collection, and roll of stabilizer
3rd prize is a package of embroidery needles and a can of 505 (small size)

Dakota Collectibles Design Solutions AlphaSizer class is coming again. This software class teaches hands-on techniques to size, rotate, mirror, and combine embroidery designs. You will also receive a Buy 1 Get 1 Free coupon for any Dakota Collectibles design collection - ANOTHER $49.95 value, and Five FREE alphabets - ANOTHER $49.95 value. Customers who already own Dakota Sizer or AlphaSizer can bring their first edition software and receive special pricing to update to the 2nd Edition. Dakota will have awesome specials on new purchases of Dakota Sizer and AlphaSizer.

Bernina is celebrating their 75th anniversary, March 15th through 19th. If you have been looking for a great deal on a Bernina sewing machine, go to http://www.berninausa.com for the details.

We want to say thank you to all the blanketeers that participated in the Project Linus "Make a Blanket Day 2007". We received about 50% more blankets than last year, and that means that 50% more kids in need will have new blankets and feel like somebody cares about them! As you know, for every blanket you donated, you received a drawing entry to possibly win a Janome DC3050. We drew the winning ticket, and the winner is... DeNiese Vanlerberghe of Murrieta! Congradulations DeNiese, and thanks to all of you who participated.

1/23/07 - Happy New Year to you all!

I have a feeling that 2007 is going to be really special year for all of us. I went to a Bernina dealer meeting yesterday in Ontario, and listened to what they have planned for the first half of the year, and there are some exciting things happening.

If you have been on the fence about purchasing a new machine or software, please note that as of January 31, 2007, Bernina will no longer offer software upgrades from within V4. This means that you would not be able to upgrade or update to V5 after the 31st if you own V4 editor lite software. Bernina has a special "trade in your dongle" program going though. If you trade in your old Bernina software dongle, Bernina will give you $200 off the purchase of their designer plus software, or $100 off the purchase of Editor Plus. This trade in program is not nearly as good as the one that they had going a few months back, but still gives you a nice break on the price. This dongle trade in program ends 6/30/07.

Bernina announced yesterday that many machines and accessory prices will increase on February 15, 2007. Unfortunately, due to the softening of the US dollar, and the exchange rate to Swiss francs, they had to increase prices. Keep in mind that you have about 3 weeks to make a decision to buy your new Bernina products at the current pricing. On a positive note, right now Bernina is offering special financing options (OAC). Check with us for details.

Bernina has an exciting new Activa 210 sewing machine coming out soon. Up to this point Bernina hasn't had any machines in this price range, and this means more people will be able to afford a Bernina machine. They have always had their Bernette line of machines, but the quality isn't nearly as good as the real Bernina machines. They didn't give us an ETA on the machines being available for purchase, but we are hoping soon! MSRP for the machine is $599.

Embroidery Club is this Saturday, January 27, 2007, and we have some great new techniques, items, designs, etc., to share with you. Gwen and Aileen have been working hard to put this together, and you shouldn't miss this first meeting of the year. We are going to be having a special contest which will be announced in the club, and you will have a chance to win some great prizes. Make sure you are here by 10AM this Saturday, and remember that you don't need to bring your machine, and Embroidery Club is FREE!

After embroidery club, Georgianne Beebe will have a special embroidery class, "Embroidery on Sweaters and Knits". Class will start at 11:30AM and ends at 2PM. Join Georgianne and learn the basic techniques of embroidery on sweaters and knits. She will address stabilizers and hooping so as not to distort your garment, and other small tips for a successful design! Class fee is $10.

11/24/06 - Hello everyone, and welcome to the freshly re-designed website! After working on a few other websites in the last year, and gaining more experience with web design, I felt like my website just wasn't professional looking. The website definately needed a fresh new look, and after working many hours on the new design, I finished it yesterday! I have updated the class schedule, and changed quite a few things around. I hope you enjoy it, and find it easy for you to navigate through. Let me know what you think!

The Spirit of Christmas Sale is my special way to honor my Lord Jesus Christ's name and birth. I specifically do not appreciate retailers who try to take Christ out of Christmas, in an attempt to boost their Christmas sales. (Wouldn't want to offend anyone, right?) The Spirit of Christmas sale is my attempt to keep people thinking about the true meaning of Christmas. I hope you will enjoy my attitude regarding keeping my heritage and tradition alive. If you were trying to protect a holiday that was important to you, I would certainly give you the same respect.

Anyways, the Spirit of Christmas Sale ends January 1st, 2007. Discounts do not apply to merchandise previously sold by Temecula Valley Sewing Center. See store for other restrictions and details.

Since I figured that my customers wouldn't want to show up for Embroidery Club on the last Saturday of November and December due to the holidays, I rescheduled Embroidery Club's last meeting of the year for Saturday December 2nd. Embroidery Club will meet at the usual time, 10:00AM. Embroidery Club WILL NOT meet this Saturday, November 25th (tomorrow), nor the last Saturday of December. This December 2nd meeting is the final meeting in 2006! Call the shop if you need to ask any questions. I look forward to seeing you on Saturday, December 2nd!

11/21/06 - Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I just want to let you know that we are going to be closed tomorrow, Wednesday the 22nd, and Thursday the 23rd, in observance of Thanksgiving. We will be back open on Friday! I hope you enjoy your holiday, and that you will be blessed as you spend time spent with family and friends!

8/11/06 - Hello everyone, I just got back from a dealer meeting with Janome. At this meeting I got to see the 9 new sewing machines they have coming out this fall.

My personal favorite new sewing machine is Janome's new Decor Computer DC2007LE. This limited edition computerized sewing machine has many great features and accessories, 30 stitches, an automatic buttonholer, Janome's 7-piece feed dog, auto-lock, needle up/needle down, a built in needle threader, a convertible free arm, auto-declutch bobbin winder, and a digital display. MSRP for the machine is $649.

I am also very excited about Janome's new stand alone embroidery machine, the Memory Craft 350E. This new embroidery unit is much like the Memory Craft 300E, but is not replacing the 300E. Janome is just giving it's customers more choices! The biggest difference between the 300E and the 350E is that the 350E will be able to accept USB sticks. The 350E will still be able to use an ATA/Compact Flash card, but with the ability to use USB sticks, this new machine will be even more easy to use. Other features that are new for the 350E are design rotation by 1 degree, and design scaling in 1 degree increments. The machine also has a new ball bearing for the upper shaft, increasing the durability and longevity of the machine. Best of all, the machine has a MSRP of only $1549.00.

We will have two different Janome Hello Kitty sewing machines coming in soon. These machines are adorned with Hello Kitty designs, and are a perfect present for a young girl. One is a 3/4 size machine, and the other is a 1/2 size machine, identical to Janome's Sew Petite.

To give you all the details of the new machines would just take too long to type out. Please come by the shop and see the new exciting machines. We have a wide assortment of machines that will accomodate a user of any skill level, and we have a machine that is in just about anyone's price range.

5/11/06 - We have just updated our Classes & Events page! One special thing to note is that we are starting a new beginning sewing class in about 2 weeks. You will need to sign up immediately if you want to take this class! If you have kids or grandkids that are out of school for the summer, this class might be something you would enjoy doing together. It goes for 10 weeks, and so far all of the beginning sewing students have really enjoyed the class. Don't miss out!

Bernina University is in San Diego this year! Since it is so close, I think we are all going to be there. We can't all be there and keep the store open, so unless something changes, it looks like the weekend of July 1st and 2nd, Temecula Valley Sewing Center is going to be closed. I think that a lot of people will be combining this weekend with Independance day for a long 4 day weekend, so I'm not sure we will be missed if we close for the weekend. July 4th is typically a very slow day for us here at the shop.

The movie "The Davinci Code" is coming out May 19th, and Temecula Valley Sewing Center has been giving out Josh McDowell's related book "Quest for Answers". While supplies last, you can come in to Temecula Valley Sewing Center and get your FREE copy! While The Davinci Code is a fictional book, it's author has claimed both in the book and in television interviews that it is accurate and true. I didn't feel like I could sit around and let somebody bash the church and Jesus without doing something, so I bought these books for anyone who wants one. Once again I don't have an unlimited supply of these, so come and get one while they last.

3/13/06 - I know I am a little late writing this message, but I want to say thank you to everyone that participated in the Project Linus "Make a Blanket Day". I had around 100 blankets donated, which I thought was awesome! The winner of the Janome DC3050 sewing machine was Prayers and Squares, a local church sewing group. Here is a picture of them, with Claudia Rose of Fairy Godmother Guild. Claudia is on the left, and the Prayers and Squares sewing group is on the right.

The Make a Blanket Day winners

The awesome turnout really made this event exciting for me, and I can't wait until next year to do it again. Don't forget that Temecula Valley Sewing Center is a year-round drop off point for Project Linus!

2/11/06 - Theres not much time left! One week from today is the Project Linus "Make a Blanket Day". Saturday February 18th is the last day for you to turn in blankets and be eligible to enter the drawing for a Janome DC3050 sewing machine! 1/21/06 - I'm a little short on making this announcement, but for those of you who machine embroider, Temecula Valley Sewing Center will be starting a new embroidery club next week. The embroidery club will start next Saturday, January 28th, at 10AM. This embroidery club is free, and is not brand or model specific. Embroidery club will be hosted by Aileen Woerth, will last about an hour or so, and will take place on the last Saturday of every month. We have wonderful mini lessons to share with you that will teach you some of the special techniques of machine embroidery. We will be sharing the newest embroidery products and designs with you, as well as offering you a chance to ask questions about your embroidery. The best part of our embroidery club is that it is free to everyone! You don't have to have bought a machine from us. Embroidery club will be a wonderful opportunity for you to meet other embroiderers in our community, learn new techniques, see new products, and enhance your embroidery throughout the year! We look forward to seeing you here at Temecula Valley Sewing Center!

12/1/05 - Today is the first day of my "Spirit of Christmas Sale" that will go on through January 1st, 2006. I decided that I must include the name "Christmas" to my sale event, even though it may offend certain people. I hope that it doesn't offend you. In my opinion some of the advertising I have seen from stores lately is ridiculous. One brochure that I saw recently from a large store said, "Get in the Spirit", but failed to mention what the "spirit" was and why getting in the spirit was necessary. My sale is a Christmas sale, and not a "holiday" sale or a "Winter" sale. As a Christian, I will not hide the true reason for the season, which is the birth of Jesus Christ. I don't force my customers to pray with me before I sell them a sewing machine, and I don't charge non-Christians extra for my merchandise. I just fail to understand why somebody would be offended that I call my sale a Christmas sale. If anything, I and other Christians are the ones that should be offended that our Christmas holiday has been nullified by retailers who are afraid to not make this years profit as big as it can possibly be. Is it really necessary to be politically correct about a Christian holiday? Maybe the retailers who don't want to offend people with Christmas slogans should just not have sales at all. They will, no doubt, be taking the day off on Christmas!

So, now that I have finished my rant, I will tell you the details of my Christmas sale. Just about everything in the store will be on sale through January 1, 2006.

11/08/05 - It's been a while since I said anything about what's new here at my store. I've arranged for a new teacher to come in and start teaching heirloom sewing. The first classes are block of the month type classes, and will be starting up in January. Our new teacher is Georgianne Beebe, and I know you will be very excited when you see the amazing work that she does. See our classes and events page for more details and some sample pictures of her work!

Oklahoma Embroidery (OESD) has just sent us an update for our embroidery take-out system. The new update allows our customers to build their own packs of embroidery designs. No longer will a customer be forced to buy a complete pack of embroidery designs when they really only wanted 1 design in a pack. These new packs will be available in either 10 or 20 design selections. Suggested retail for the 10 pack is $49, and $69 for the 20 pack! We need to order in the special CDs that these packs will burn on, but it shouldn't be long before we can offer these packs to you!

Last but not least, we have another used machine in the store. It's actually my mom's old Bernina 131. It's in great shape (after all it was my mom's machine, and I have done all the service on it). It's a great full size machine, and fits in a price range that makes it an excellent choice for even a beginning sewing or quilting student.

9/29/05 - The new Janome Memory Craft 6600P is here! This long awaited machine is on our sales floor, and ready to demonstrate! This is the Memory Craft 6500P's big sister, and has some great new features compared to the 6500P! I'm sure this new 6600P will be another international best seller. I sewed on it this morning and was very pleased with the built in walking foot. I've never sewn with a walking foot that was so smooth. No clanking or loud noises here, in fact you wouldn't even know it was on! The machine also has a start/stop button that the 6500P didn't have. You can sew without the foot control using this start/stop button. As if these new features were not already enough, Janome has figured out how to include it's exclusive 7 point feed dog system in this new machine. On the 6500P, Janome had said that the 7 point feed dog was not possible to include due to the geometry of the built in thread cutter. Janome continues to amaze us with their machines and technology. We hope that you might be so fortunate to possibly own one of these machines someday. We have 2 of these new 6600P machines in stock. If you want one you should probably act fast, they are on backorder status with Janome right now. When these 2 are gone it might be a while before backorders are filled. Through December Janome is advertising that the 6600P will come with a luggage system. This promotion is almost too good to refuse. Come see our most recent arrival today!

8/26/05 - We finally received our Janome Memory Craft 11000 this week! It's many great features include a 9¼ inch arm, a 8x8 inch embroidery area, a huge high resolution screen, USB stick compatibility, and many more great attributes. This machine is so amazing. Even though we are a multi-line dealer, I have to honestly say that right now this Janome Memory Craft 11000 is the king of machines. Come by the shop for a demonstration, and see the future of home sewing and embroidery!

8/07/05 - I just got back from Janome Institute in New Orleans, and all I can say is WOW! You are in for a BIG surprise when their new machines come out. The official webcast for the unveiling of their new top of the line machine is set for August 20th, and you don't want to miss it. Even if you are not in the market for a new machine, you just have to take a look at how awesome the new Janome MC11000 is. I don't want to ruin all the excitement by telling you about it's features now, but this machine is really going to change the whole sewing machine and embroidery world. It is very amazing. We should have our MC11000 in the store by August 25, so plan to come by and let us show you this fine machine!

7/26/05 - We have now made our lesson plan and scheduled our first series of beginning sewing classes, to be taught by Aileen Woerth. We have scheduled the classes on Monday evenings so that more people would have a chance to take this class. Don't wait till the last minute to sign up, because class space is limited. Call the shop at (951) 694-9576 or see the Classes and Events for more details.

7/23/05 - What's new is that the website is getting a total makeover! If you haven't been here in a while, you will notice new pages, new banners, menu, pictures, graphics, etc. The site is still under construction, but I continue to work on this website as much as possible, and hope that it provides you with the information you need as our customer. Most of the old site pages are working, there's just a few new ones that haven't been completed. Please come back soon and see the finished site!
